Cellist Katherine Cherbas has performed solo and chamber music recitals
throughout the U.S. and has received particular acclaim for her performances
of contemporary music, including the world-premiere recording of Milton
Babbitt's String Quartet No. 6 (Tzadik). She frequently can be heard in the
cello section of the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra and Broadway shows
including Wicked, Phantom of the Opera, and Mary Poppins. Ms. Cherbas holds
a B.A. from Columbia University, an M.M. from The Juilliard School, and a
D.M.A. from SUNY at Stony Brook; her principal cello studies have been with
Joel Krosnick, Timothy Eddy, Tsuyoshi Tsutsumi, and Helga Winold.
